I’ve long advocated that law enforcement have better options for diverting people who commit non-violent crimes from jail to treatment and other needed services. After a lot of hard work and the coming together of many public and community partners, the groundbreaking for a new 32-bed CRISIS STABILIZATION CENTER will occur on Monday, September 30th, 2019! This will provide deputies and other officers with better diversion options for ensuring those with mental health or substance abuse issues receive treatment and services that will help prevent recidivism.
Your Sheriff's Office has intensely been involved in planning the services that will be provided at this facility to ensure it is a viable, reliable and realistic law enforcement option.
